National Museums NI are seeking a Data Validation Officer to join their specialist environmental data team, supporting the validation and management of important biodiversity records across Northern Ireland.
The Role:
Validate and verify biodiversity datasets, ensuring environmental records are accurate and ready for import into the Recorder 6 database.
Work through a backlog of environmental records, accurately preparing and inputting data into Recorder 6 and other relevant systems.
Support the ongoing management, maintenance and development of CEDaR's environmental databases and data management processes.
Assist with the development of validation and verification procedures, promoting consistent data collection standards and best practice.
Liaise with species group experts and relevant organisations to support the verification of environmental records and develop effective professional networks.
Produce ad-hoc reports and statistics relating to validated and verified environmental records.
Support the preparation of data for the future migration from Recorder 6 to a new system, helping ensure data is accurate, consistent and ready for transition.
