Discover funding opportunities for your MSc in Earth Science and Engineering at Imperial!

 

Apply for our Master’s programmes in the Department of Earth Science and Engineering (ESE) at Imperial College London!

 

We offer a range of MSc computational courses:

  • MSc Renewable Energy with AI and Data Science: Geology and Geophysics (READY) 

  • MSc Geo-Energy with Machine Learning and Data Science (GEMS)

  • MSc Applied Computational Science and Engineering (ACSE)

  • MSc Environmental Data Science and Machine Learning (EDSML)

 

Those with Earth Science backgrounds are particularly suited to the MSc READY course which will provide students with offshore data experience and exposure to industry, applying computational techniques to geological and geophysical data to characterise sites for renewable energy.

 

These programmes are part of a recent departmental initiative, the Ada Lovelace Academy – a hub for dedicated to increasing the representation of women and other underrepresented groups in engineering and technology.

 

Financial support

We understand that financing a postgraduate degree is a significant consideration, and we’re committed to supporting students through a range of departmental scholarship and bursary opportunities.

 

Our department offers various awards specifically designed to support both home and international students throughout their studies. These scholarships are intended to help make our world-leading MSc programmes accessible to a diverse range of applicants.

 

The following departmental scholarships are open for MSc READY applicants for the 2026/2027 academic year:


Ada Lovelace Scholarships

Sponsor: ESE

Eligibility: Women who demonstrate exceptional academic merit and/or potential (Home and Overseas applicants); Home fee status applicants who demonstrate exceptional academic merit and/or potential.

Award: All scholarships cover tuition fees; some also provide a stipend.

Equinor Scholarship

Sponsor: Equinor

Eligibility: Open to both Home and Overseas students.

Award: Covers tuition fees; some may also provide a stipend.

Spärck AI Scholarship

Sponsor: UK Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT)

Women in STEM Scholarships

Sponsor: British Council

Eligibility: Full scholarships for women who are passport holders and permanent residents of Egypt.

Key deadlines


To be considered for these scholarships, please ensure you complete both steps by the following deadlines:

  1. Apply for the MSc READY course via the Imperial MSc graduate admissions process by Monday 13th April 2026.

  2. Submit the relevant scholarship application form(s) by 11am (UK time) on Friday 17th April 2026.
