Background

RPS Ireland Limited (a Tetra Tech Company) employs over 300 staff and has been providing services to the UK and ROI for the past 70 years.  We offer a wide range of opportunities, in a dynamic work place, where achievements are rewarded and progress encouraged. As one of Ireland’s leading multidisciplinary consultancies, we are working on many high-profile Planning, Engineering, Water, Waste, Transport, Project Management and Environmental projects and require innovative and motivated staff.

Role

We are currently seeking applications from highly motivated placement students with a background in Environmental Management / Environmental Science / Environmental Engineering, seeking to gain industry experience in environmental consultancy. Our Water Environment division offers a wide range of services including environmental assessment, strategic environmental appraisals, peatland hydrology and restoration, water quality and coastal processes modelling. We currently have roles to support various teams across the Water Environment division which will give successful applicants the opportunity to gain skills in a range of disciplines.

Examples include the peatland team, which may involve undertaking field surveys to collect hydrological monitoring data and undertake pressure assessment surveys contributing to the development of restoration action plans. We are also responsible for collecting soil samples as part of the Soil Nutrient Health Scheme on behalf of the Agri Food and Biosciences Institute. We have roles to support this scheme which will include sample planning, field mapping preparation, sampler audits, and quality assurance. Students will also have the opportunity to support other important work going on in the team at the time, including working on Environmental Impact Assessments, Strategic Environmental Assessments, Constraints Studies and Catchment Studies.
